....so that everyone can enjoy the benefits of the AI revolution.
We are told that AI will become the most disruptive technology we have seen…so far; that it will impact every business, within every industry.
We can already see some of the more high-profile applications of AI already having an impact in areas like autonomous driving, healthcare and customer service. We often hear that we have a choice: disrupt or be disrupted. But many small and medium sized business don’t have the skills, knowledge and resources to begin to look at how they can take control of their AI destiny; and many larger businesses have business structures that conflict with entrepreneurship. AI is such a powerful and potentially disruptive technology and UnifAI Technology believes that every business, small or large, should have an equal opportunity to participate in the AI revolution.
UnifAI Technology’s mission is to simplify artificial intelligence for real world applications. In short, make AI easy enough to use so that every business can understand and operate AI.
We have built our AI technologies on AWS infrastructure, who provide robust, scalable, secure solutions, with phenomenal availability at low cost. And by doing this, UnifAI Technology is working hard to make AI accessible and affordable.
But the real question that business need to think about when considering using AI is why?
This remains the critical question for all businesses, and whilst a lot of the talk around AI is about machine learning, neural networks, deep learning etc. the technicality isn’t important, what is important is the business case, the reason you might want to consider AI in the first place.
If you have or can establish a reason to use AI, and have access to enough data already; or can make changes to start collecting data, then there is an AI solution out there that is likely to be able to help your business develop.
To help simplify how AI can be used, we have highlighted three key areas that may help you think of areas where you may consider using AI, and given you examples of how AI is able to help improve existing businesses:
1) To improve an existing PRODUCT:
we have taken low cost off the shelf environmental monitoring sensors that detect two parameters, and from those used AI to detect more than 30 parameters, including pathogens and coliforms that can affect environmental and human health. The off the shelf manufacturers of low-cost sensors costing a few hundred dollars have now got the ability to use AI to provide real time monitoring and alerts giving early warning for issues and risks. Why? Sensors + AI costing a few hundred dollars can provide an alternative to more complex sensors that cost typically between $15,000 and $20,000; and extend basic products into services.
2) To improve SERVICES:
we are working with farms and agricultural institutions in the UK and Portugal using off the shelf low cost sensors to provide real time AI agronomist capabilities to help farmers better protect and preserve soil quality, improve food security and reduce the environmental impact of farming on the environment. Again, using real time AI based solutions costing a few hundred dollars, rather than alternatives with a much greater financial cost; and a potentially greater environmental cost.
3) To improve PROCESS:
we are working with a range of partners ranging from automotive to energy to banking; the collection of data and application of AI from processes enables real time understanding to reduce product failure, supply chain implications, regulatory reporting, risk management etc. Many organisations already have access to data, and could begin almost immediately to leverage that data to start to understand how they can reduce cost; reduce risk and improve profit.
The art to understanding whether AI has a benefit is relatively simple – if you have a product that could be enhanced by AI; or a service that can be made faster, more accurate or more expansive using AI; or have a process that could be improved, there is probably the basis for a business case to look into AI – and if that AI can be delivered affordably...you have a case.
