Dan Byles is Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of UnifAI Technology, and an experienced technology entrepreneur, board adviser and former Member of Parliament.
During his time in Parliament, Dan served on both the Science & Technology Select Committee and the Energy & Climate Change Select Committee, founded and chaired parliamentary groups focused on Smart Cities and the Environment.
Alongside his role at UnifAI Technology, Dan serves as Chair of the British Standards Institution's Independent Digital Strategic Advisory Group and holds, and has held, a range of executive, non-executive and advisory positions across technology, innovation, sustainability and digital transformation.
As CEO, Dan leads UnifAI Technology's strategy, growth and commercial development, working with customers, partners and stakeholders to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence, data analytics and digital technologies across healthcare, environmental monitoring and infrastructure sectors.
Nuno Silva
Chief Scientific and Technology Officer & Co-Founder
Nuno Silva is a multi-disciplinary scientist and technology leader with extensive experience in artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering and innovation. Throughout his career he has led the development of advanced digital solutions across multiple sectors, combining scientific
rigour with practical commercial application.
As Chief Scientific and Technology Officer, Nuno leads the company's technology strategy, research and development activities. He oversees the evolution of UnifAI Technology's core platforms, ensuring that the company's data, analytics and AI capabilities continue to deliver innovative and scalable solutions for customers across healthcare, environmental monitoring and infrastructure sectors.
Phil Hughes
Co-Founder & Strategic Adviser
Phil co-founded UnifAI Technology in 2019 and served as CEO until 2026. During this period he helped guide the company's growth, development and commercialisation, establishing UnifAI Technology across healthcare, environmental monitoring and infrastructure sectors.
Phil continues to support UnifAI Technology in a strategic advisory capacity, providing guidance on innovation, technology development and long-term growth opportunities.
Gemma Hughes
Chief Operating Officer & Co-Founder
Gemma Hughes is a co-founder of UnifAI Technology and an experienced operational and quality management professional with a background spanning technology, defence, retail and education. She has extensive experience developing organisational processes, governance frameworks and quality management systems to support business growth and operational excellence.
Gemma leads the company's quality and compliance activities, including the maintenance and development of UnifAI Technology's ISO 13485 quality management system. She works closely with the wider team to ensure that quality, regulatory and governance requirements remain embedded throughout the organisation.
Luis Ferreira
Technical Director
Luis Ferreira is an experienced software architect and technology leader with expertise in software engineering, data engineering, machine learning and systems design. He has extensive experience developing robust, scalable software platforms and applying advanced technologies to solve complex operational and business challenges.
As Technical Director, Luis is responsible for the technical architecture and delivery of UnifAI Technology's software solutions. He works closely with the wider development team to ensure the company's platforms remain secure, scalable and capable of supporting the growing needs of customers and partners.
Gil Castro

Gil Castro is a highly skilled software engineer with significant experience in software development, cloud technologies and modern application design. He specialises in building reliable, high-performance software solutions and enjoys applying technology to solve real-world problems.
As Tech Lead Engineer, Gil leads the day-to-day software development activities within UnifAI Technology. He plays a key role in designing, developing and maintaining the company's platforms, helping to ensure that customers receive innovative, reliable and easy-to-use technology solutions.
